Lauren McClanahan

Making interesting photos has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until the birth of my daughter in 2004 that I got serious. My favorite subjects to photograph have always been people. I enjoy the challenge of finding those moments when I capture the true essence of someone, often when they forget that I’m even there. When not making photographs, I enjoy preparing new teachers as a Professor of Secondary Education at Western Washington University. I am also the Executive Director of the Bellingham Youth Media Project, where I work with K-12 teachers to encourage creative and meaningful digital media creation in their students.
